Biography
Sardar Muhammad Yousuf (Urdu: سردار محمد یوسف) is a Pakistani politician who is the current Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in the third Sharif ministry. A member of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Yousuf has been an elected member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, representing Mansehra non-consequently since 1990.
Political career
Yousuf was elected the member of Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the first time in Pakistani general election, 1985. He was re-elected as the member of the Provincial Assembly in Pakistani general election, 1990.
In Pakistani general election, 1990, he was elected as the member of the National Assembly of Pakistan for the firs time. In Pakistani general election, 1993 he was re-elected as the member of the National Assembly for the second time and for the third time in Pakistani general election, 1997. He served as District Nazim of Mansehra District.
In early 2013, he left Pakistan Muslim League (Q) to join the PML-Nand was re-elected as the member of the National Assembly for the fourth time in the Pakistani general election, 2013. Upon PML-N victory in the Pakistani general election, 2013, he was appointed Minister for Religious Affair and Interfaith Harmony in the third Sharif ministry.
