Biography
Sandy Soul (real name Sandra Nankoma) is a Ugandan live and recording Afro-soul and jazz musician and actress. She landed into the music industry when she collaborated with Sylvester Kabombo on a hip hop song, "Fumbiro" in 2009. She later released her hit singles, “Superstar” and "Mercedes".
Career
Sandy Soul started singing as a young girl but she started doing music professionally in 2009 when she when she collaborated with Sylvester Kabombo on a hip hop song, "Fumbiro". She released her first single titled Superstar. She has since recorded a number of other songs including Mercedes which was featured on RNW ‘s MySong program on YouTube as well as collaborating with so many other Ugandan musicians including Cyno, Slyvester, Gianni Coletti, DJ PP, Keejay Freak and many others.
Sandy Soul has performed on a number of stages in Uganda at festivals like Laba Festival of the Arts, Milege World Music Festival organized by Milege, Pearl Rhythm Festival, Bayimba Festival, World Music Day celebrations and so many others. She has performed alongside big names in the Ugandan music industry such as Suzan Kerunen, Herbert Kinobe, Myco Ouma, Undercover Brothers Ug, Joel Sebunjo, Jemimah Sanyu, Coco Finger and many more
Acting career
Sandy Soul has acted in long line of theatre plays and musicals. She is a member of a drama group, Afroman Spice which is made up three women Sandy Soul, Rasheeda Namulondo and Ms Nanda. The group's plays, musicals and poetry are about social issues affecting Uganda and Africa at large. Sandy Soul has performed with the group in Uganda, Kenya and Ivory Coast.
Personal life
Sandy Soul was born Sandra Nakoma in Mukono district, where she was also raised.
