Biography

Sandra Perez-Ramos (born Puerto Rico) is an American visual artist currently residing and working out of the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Perez-Ramos studied and earned her BA in 1998 from the School of Communications at the University of Puerto Rico. She resides in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Work

Perez-Ramos' artwork has lately been generally focused on a neo-primitive, somewhat whimsical approach to art. Her work has been included in three major international photography biennials in Cuba and Puerto Rico, and in exhibitions throughout the US. More recently her work has been addressing more Latin(x) focused themes, such as Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. She is the co-founder and Vice-President of The Latino Art League of Greater Washington DC, and the former Membership Chair at the Montgomery Art Association.
