Samandar Rzayev

Samandar Rzayev (Azerbaijani: Səməndər Mənsim oğlu Rzayev; 2 January 1945, Agsu (city), Azerbaijan SSR – 27 March 1986, Baku, Azerbaijan SSR) was an Azerbaijani actor and Honored Artist of Azerbaijan SSR (1974), laureate of the State Prize of Azerbaijan SSR (1980).

Samandar Rzayev was born in Agsu. In early years he joined the drama community. Samandar Rzayev studied at Azerbaijan State Theatre Institute named after Mirzaagha Aliyev in 1964–1968. Adil Isgandarov, Rza Tahmasib, Mehdi Mammadov were his teachers. The last year of the institute he was accepted to the troupe of Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre with the invitation of Tofig Kazimov in 1968. His first role was Horatio (Hamlet).
