Ruth Rudy (born January 3, 1938) is an American politician from Pennsylvania. She is a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from Centre and Mifflin Counties.
Early life and education
Ruth Rudy was born on January 3, 1938, in Millheim, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from Penn Valley Area High School in 1955. She then earned a radiological studies certificate from Carnegie Institute in 1956.
In 1969-1971, she attended The Pennsylvania State University.
Career
After finishing her education, she served as the legislative director at the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture from 1972 to 1975. In 1976, she was elected prothonotary and clerk of courts at Centre County—a position she held until 1983.
In 1980, she was elected delegate, Democratic National Convention. In 1982, she was elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and served 6 more consecutive terms.
In 1989-1990, she was appointed Commission for Women.
