Biography
Ruth Pat-Horenczyk, Ph.D., Director of Children and Adolescent Services of ICTP is a clinical psychologist who received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Hebrew University. She completed her post-doctoral training at the University of California, San Diego. She thereafter was involved in clinical research and teaching in several areas of behavioral medicine such as sleep and eating disorders. Currently, she serves as the Director of the Child and Adolescent clinical services at Herzog Hospital's The Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma in Jerusalem, Israel. Additionally, she is a lecturer at the Hebrew University's school of Social Work. In the last few years she has been conducting a nationwide screening project aimed at identification of post-traumatic distress among children and adolescents and provision of school-based group intervention for those in need. Dr. Pat-Horenzcyk has published a variety of articles and contributed several book chapters in the field of child trauma and has appeared at numerous international conferences to present her clinical work and research findings. Recently, she has co-edited the book "Treatment of Traumatized Children: Risk, Resilience, and Recovery" which was published by Routledge in 2009.
