Rueben Wood (born September 26, 1991) is an American media proprietor, chef, actor, director, producer, and CEO of SOM Magazine, from Brunswick, Georgia.

Early life and career

Rueben Wood was born on September 26, 1991 in Brunswick. At the age of seven years old Rueben Wood took an interest in music. When he was ten years old, Wood began doing cyphers with his schoolmates. Moving to Northern Georgia, Rueben then developed a desire to get into the culinary field. After graduating from high school, he went on to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta to study culinary and obtained his cooking education.

In 2007, Rueben Wood began his stint in the entertainment industry by starting off as an artist by the name of Yung Bank. The genre of his music consisted of Hip Hop, Pop, and R&B. Upon releasing his mixtape Look At The World The Way I Do, it boosted his notoriety in his community as well as in other places as his music made it to online radio stations.

He started performing in Georgia, Florida, California, and New York, gaining national success as he received multiple offers from top record labels. At the end of 2011, Wood decided to start a magazine company, creating SOM Magazine.His main focus on starting SOM Magazine was to make his ultimate transition into being a media proprietor and to help artists break into the industry based on his own personal experiences in the music industry. He also gained his inspiration to start SOM Magazine from noticing that there weren't enough publications that assisted to independent artist and helping their artistry platform.

Since launching the company, he has become media partners with several top media companies and brands, and his site has received over 8.6 million visitors since its launch in 2012. On January 23, 2016 Wood released his first film production, a documentary entitled, Classic Kutz.
