Biography

Leroy Louis Dietzel (born January 1, 1931, in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American former professional baseball player who played in nine Major League games in 1954. A second baseman and third baseman, he was listed at 6 feet (1.8 m) tall and 190 pounds (86 kg), and threw and batted right-handed.
Signed as an amateur free agent in 1950, Dietzel spent five seasons in the minor leagues prior to playing his first MLB game with the Washington Senators. In his debut, he started at second base and had two singles in four at bats, with a base on balls and a run batted in, as the Senators defeated the Detroit Tigers, 16–6. He made five hits, all singles, in 21 big-league at bats during his only term in the Majors.
Dietzel retired after the 1956 season.
