Andela formerly played with CSKA Sofia, Petrolul Ploieşti, where he won a Romanian cup-winner's medal, and Levski Kyustendil.
In 1999, he came to Northern Ireland, for a trial with Derry City FC, who played in the League of Ireland. He was not given a contract but moved to Glentoran FC, where he impressed Partick Thistle.
