Biography
Rochelle Feinstein is an American artist/painter based in New York City. She was raised in Queens, New York, received her BFA from Pratt Institute, and her MFA from The University of Minnesota. Feinstein lives in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and maintains a studio in Brooklyn, NY. Feinstein was a member of the visual arts faculty of Bennington College from 1980 through 1994. She is a professor of painting and printmaking at the School of Art, Yale University. She was one of the first females to be tenured at Yale University in the Visual Arts. Feinstein has been making paintings, exhibitions, photographs, retrospectives, videos, and installations for over 30 years. She is represented by On Stellar Rays in NYC. Her new video, Toy George is included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial.
Exhibitions
Feinstein's work was included in many faculty exhibitions at Bennington College. Her work has been shown in the Jersey City Museum, the University of Texas at Austin’s Blanton Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Whitney, David Beitzel Gallery and On Stellar Rays
