Biography

Roberto Mouzo (born 8 January 1953 in Avellaneda) is a retired Argentine football defender. He played the vast majority of his career for Boca Juniors, being the all-time most appearing player for the team, with 426 matches played. Mouzo also won 6 titles with the club.

Career

Player

Mouzo started his career in a 0–0 draw with Gimnasia y Esgrima (M) on 11 November 1971. Mouzo went on to make a record 426 appearances for Boca in all competitions, 396 in the Argentine league, making him the player with the most games in the history of Boca Juniors. Mouzo won all of the titles with Boca including the Copa Libertadores of 1977 and 1978.

Mouzo scored 24 goals during his career at Boca, 21 in the league and 3 in the 1977 Copa Libertadores.

Mouzo made his last appearance for Boca on 16 December 1984 in a 2–0 win against Rosario Central. After leaving Boca, Mouzo had short spells with Estudiantes de Río Cuarto and Club 9 de Octubre in Ecuador.

After retirement

Mouzo had a spell as youth coach at Boca before becoming interim coach in 1996 with Francisco Sá after the sacking of Carlos Bilardo.
