Robert E. Lee

Robert E. Lee was an American Confederate general who commanded the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia during the American Civil War.

Robert E. Lee was born on January 19, 1807, in Westmoreland County, Virginia, United States.

Before the Civil War, Robert E. Lee served as an officer in the United States Army. He fought in the Mexican–American War and later served as Superintendent of the United States Military Academy.
