Quick Facts
Biography
Richard Davies is the founder of Evbex, Evbex-Asia and Evbex-FRP. Evbex is a Property and Facilities Management (PFM) consultancy organisation that delivers best-value solutions for organisations in both the public and private sectors. Its vision is to enable organisations to achieve operational excellence through optimising infrastructure, space, building services, people, business processes and technology. Positive outcomes manifest from assisting all types of organisations to manage risk, prosper and thrive through ensuring strategic, tactical and operational control of a non-core cost to the business which equates to in excess of 25% of an organisations overall budget.
From a construction background starting with Taylor Woodrow Construction in 1986, Richard has significant experience across the property occupation and operation cycle. His primary focus is to establish Best Value solutions for organisations within the private and public sectors.
He delivers value engineered solutions across several platforms: planning, strategic, sourcing-procurement-tendering, systems and processes and business improvement.
The relevance of people and HR in PFM is significant. The definition of Facilities Management is ‘an organizational function which integrates people, place and process within the built environment with the purpose of improving the quality of life of people and the productivity of the core business’. The cost effective and efficient PFM operation within any organisation is dependent on people more than any other resource or technological solution. Richard has established a cost-effective index (Quality-Value index) that ensures that the optimisation of people within an organisation is directly related to the organisations survival and prosperity.
Richard has also developed a cloud-based technology solution with a local partner in Sri Lanka to ensure PFM organisational excellence at the right price through people, property and technology.
In addition to his research, Richard has written publications, lectured at several universities, provided training and now represents the UK on the International Standards Organisation (ISO) contributing towards the new breed of international FM Standards, including the acclaimed ISO 41001: Facilities Management Systems. He also contributes towards FM and Maintenance Standards within the British Standards Institution (BSi).
