Biography
Richa Pandey Mishra (born 13 March 1977) is an Indian social activist, corporate trainer, social entrepreneur and current national spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party. Formerly, she has held various senior executive and management positions across various well known organisations of India and is also a certified Yoga trainer. She is also the founder of eJeevika HR Pvt Ltd. that she incubated at IIT Madras’s Rural Technology Business Incubator.
Early life and education
Richa Pandey was born in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh is the eldest child of Dr. Ganesh Prasad Pandey and Savitri Pandey. She lost her only brother in a car accident in the year 2003. She got married to Rohit Mishra a Senior management professional from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh in the year 2004. Richa has twin daughters.
She completed higher secondary education from A.S.N Sr. Sec School, Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Delhi. She then graduated as Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University and completed her Masters in Business Administration from Institute of Management Studies. Later, she also attended the Entrepreneurship Development Program funded by Department of Science and Technology, London Business School in March 2012, and was selected for the Entrepreneurship funded by ISB and Goldman Sacs 10000 Women Entrepreneur in July 2012. Since school and college days Richa was an active debater, theatre actor and wrote poetry on topics related to social justice and women empowerment. She has undertaken diploma in Yoga Vidya from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and Human Resource Training from ISTD, Delhi. Richa was an actor with Asmita Theatre Group under Shri Arvind Gaur where she did many Hindi plays like Warren Hasting ka Sand, Ramkali etc. Career
Richa started her career as Management Marketing Executive at Indian Express Group and continued from May 2000 to December 2002. From December 2002 to May 2004, she worked at the Times of India group as Senior Officer (Marketing). From June 2004 to August 2006, she held the position of Assistant Manager where she was responsible for securing and enhancing the market share of niche magazines like Business Today, Time Magazine and Golf Digest.
From August 2006 till November 2007, she worked at Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited. From November 2007 till August 2008, she served as a Project Associate for Rural Technology and Business Incubator(IIT Madras). She incubated a Social Enterprise that trains rural youth for employment at IIT Madras Business Incubator RTBI.
Current engagements
Ravi Memorial Charitable Society
From January 2008 till now, she has been serving as the Vice Chairman of Ravi Memorial Charitable Society (Uttar Pradesh), where she has been involved in providing Teacher Training solutions and enhancing quality of academics.
eJeevika HR Pvt Ltd
In August 2008, Richa founded eJeevika HR Pvt Ltd, a skill building company incubated by Rural technology and Business Incubator at IIT Madras. She is the currently serving CEO of eJeevika HR Pvt Ltd. eJeevika trained and provided employment to nearly 10,000 rural youth from Tamil Nadu, Andra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Assam. More than half of the rural trainers and franchisees of eJeevika were women from the villages itself who were personally empowered by Richa. eJeevika also created e learning content in multiple languages for state Governments and big corporates. eJeevika also conducted Skill gap analysis for Punjab Government and CII.
Shri Ram Centre of Performing Arts
Richa has been serving as Consulting Chief Operating Officer at Shri Ram Centre of Performing Arts since September 2012. As the consulting COO of SRC Richa took care of the Acting course initiative, Theater Repertory of SRC and SRC Auditorium. Her role included making the organization profitable by promoting Theatre in general public using Social media tools and other media interventions, managing overall administration, creative development and Vocational Training course development and implementation.
Aam Aadmi Party
Richa is a Sah-Prabhari for Organisation building in Aam Aadmi Party. She’s often seen representing the Aam Aadmi Party on TV debates as the national spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party. Richa’s also a member of Delhi State Disciplinary Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Govt of NCT of Delhi
In the Government of NCT of Delhi, Richa held the position of Member of Urban Livelihoods Mission, and a Member of the Employment Task Force under Labor Minister. Richa also served as the Chairperson of the Governing Body Member of Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women. She was a Member of Commission of Inquiry for Women Safety in Delhi which works toward providing social justice to women in distress.
