Biography
Reem al-Kamali is an Emirati writer. She was born in 1972. She studied history at university and currently works as a culture editor at Al-Bayan newspaper. She took part in the IPAF Nadwa writers' workshop in 2015.
Her works include:
- The Sultanate of Hormuz (2013), Owais Prize for Creativity in 2015
- The Statue of Dalma (2018), winner of the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity
- Rose’s Diary (2021), shortlisted for the Arabic Booker Prize in 2022
Rose's Diary was the first work by an author from the UAE to make it to the IPAF Award shortlist.
