Real Cyr (born May 20, 1987) is a Canadian former ice hockey goaltender.
Prince George Cougars
Cyr played major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Prince George Cougars. Over four seasons (2004 - 2008), Cyr played 161 games to compile a record of 54 wins, 80 losses, and 3 ties, with a 3.20 GAA and .899 save percentage. During the 2006–07 season he was named the Canadian Hockey League's Goaltender of the Week (November 27).
Alberta Golden Bears
Undrafted, in 2008 Cry enrolled at the University of Alberta where he played five seasons (2008 – 2013) of CIS hockey with the Alberta Golden Bears. In his first season with the Golden Bears he was awarded the 2008–09 Adam Kryczka Memorial Trophy (shared with Aaron Sorochan) for posting the CIS (West) best team goals against average (GAA). During the 2011–12 season Cry played 18 games, posted a 1.59 GAA and a .935 saves percentage, and won his second Adam Kryczka Memorial Trophy (shared with Kurtis Mucha). His outstanding play was further rewarded when he was selected as the CIS Goaltender of the Year and was named to the 2011–12 CIS All-Canadian First Team. In his final year with the Golden Bears he was awarded his third Adam Kryczka Memorial Trophy (shared again with Kurtis Mucha).
