Biography
Ralph Moon (January 11, 1778 – December 23, 1859) was an English farmer and landowner best remembered as the earliest direct ancestor of Cometan to be photographed. Ralph Moon was married to Agnes Moon (née Taylor) and lived in the village of Eccleston, Lancashire where the historical Moon family have resided for hundreds of years. Ralph Moon is the 4th great-grandfather of Cometan. In 1858, Ralph and his wife sat down together so that their daughter Mary Ann Moon could take a photograph of them together. This portrait is one of the oldest images in Cometanic ancestry and certainly the oldest of a director ancestor of Cometan.
