Ralph E. Kronenwetter was a politician in Wisconsin.

Biography

Kronenwetter was born Ralph Eugene Kronenwetter on November 5, 1899 in Mosinee, Wisconsin. He died on May 6, 1950.

Kronenwetter's grandfather, the German-born Sebastian Kronenwetter, was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Career

Kronenwetter was a candidate for the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1938, losing to Anthony Gruszka. In 1948, he ran for the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin's 7th congressional district. He lost to incumbent Reid F. Murray. Kronenwetter was a Democrat.

Kronenwetter did go on to become Mayor of Mosinee. During his time as Mayor, he and the city took party in a mock invasion of Communists staged by the American Legion. The city spent a day under control of the "Communists" illustrating what life would be like under Communist control. As Kronenwetter arrived at a rally that night which was meant to return the city back to normal, he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Kronenwetter never regained consciousness and died five days later.
