Biography
Rahul Rampersad is a badminton player from Trinidad and Tobago and the current president of Trinidad and Tobago Badminton Association.
Rampersad is from Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago. He attended Presentation College Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago from 1998 to 2005. From 2006 to 2009, he attended Newcastle University, U.K., from and earned a bachelor's degree in Civil and Structural engineering.
In 2011, Rampersad won the Trinidad and Tobago Badminton Senior Men's Open title after defeating the former champion and top seed Kerwyn Pantin 21-17, 22-20. He also won a gold and a bronze medal on national duty at the Venezuelan and Suriname International tournaments.
Following his achievements, Rampersad was awarded the 2012 Men’s Senior Player of the Year Award by the T&T Badminton Association.
In 2014 Trinidad and Tobago Badminton Association annual doubles, Justin Siu and Rampersad defeated top-ranked Kerwyn Pantin and Alistair Espinoza in three sets 21-15, 22-24, 21-18 to win the men's doubles final.
Rampersad is the current president of Trinidad and Tobago Badminton Association.
