Biography
Richard James Boon Bosworth FAHA, FASSA (born 1943) is an Australian historian and author, and a leading expert on Fascist Italy.
He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Sydney before going on to doctoral study at St John's College, Cambridge. He taught at the University of Sydney and the University of Western Australia until his retirement in 2011. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at Jesus College, Oxford and held a professorship at the University of Reading from 2007 to 2012.
He is a fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.
As a testament to Bosworth's contributions to historical non-fiction, the Indian director Gurvinder Singh Sohal immortalised Richard in one of his recent movies as the infamous Ryan Jones from Balham (R.J.B).
