Pradeep Yadav

Pradeep Yadav, प्रदीप यादव, is a Nepalese politician and the current member of the Federal Parliament of Nepal since 2017. In the 2017 Nepalese general election, he was elected from the Parsa 1 constituency securing 21132 (47.38%) votes. He served as the chairperson of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, which later became the Samajwadi Party after a merger with Baburam Bhattarai's Naya Shakti. He was still the chairperson until his party sacked him for 6 months for participating in a free Tibet meeting somewhere in Europe.
 

Early life

Yadav was born on 7th May 1975 in Mariyari-22, Parsa as the eldest child of Rajeshwor Prasad Yadav and Kanti Devi in a family of farmers. Yadav was raised among the 3 siblings who were bought up in very ordinary financial and social backgrounds. He completed his primary education in his village and moved to Birgunj for further studies. Yadav finished his secondary education at Siddhartha Secondary School, Birgunj, and went to India for his further education.

Political career

Yadav began his political journey in 1995. His dedication and motivation to serve his people led Yadav to be appointed as secretary for Village Development Committee for a year. His pure interest in politics increased in those days and he made his first step in politics in 1997 as an active member of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party. After serving there as regional president till 2007, he realized that he is very focused on the development of Madhesh, and as a result, he joined Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum, Nepal in 2008.

Nepalese Constituent Assembly election, 2013

In the 2013 Nepalese Constituent Assembly election, Yadav was nominated from Parsa 2 constituency but lost the election with a minor vote count. Yadav was not disappointed and he emerged more strongly to put problems of Madhesh across the parliament and continued his political and social journey.

Nepalese General Election, 2017
In the 2017 Nepalese general election, Yadav was again nominated and this time everything seemed to be in his favor. Yadav had received an election ticket for Parsa 1 constituency and in the end, he won with a major vote count.

Social Involvement

Yadav has been actively working for the betterment of his people. He is an active social worker and has contributed a lot to the development of his constituency. Yadav has always supported people in need. During April 2015 Nepal earthquake, he immediately came up with a relief program for the victims. He also personally visited several hospitals and provided the necessary support. He has also been involved with organizing Women-led training to provide income-generating skills so that they could be independent.

Yadav is known to be a humble and kind person who is always keen to help others.
