Poorvi Jain

Poorvi Jain (born 4 November 1996) is an Indian film actress. She started her career at the age of 19 as a theatre actor and had also acted in a few theatre plays. She will make her Bollywood debut opposite Irrfan Khan with Kareena Kapoor and Radhika Madan in Homi Adajania's social comedy Angrezi Medium, which is a sequel of the 2017 hit film Hindi Medium.

Poorvi Jain was born on 4 November 1996 in Jaipur to Sanjay Jain and Preeti Jain. She has a younger brother, Shubham Jain. She has done her schooling from St Anselm's Pink City Sr Secondary School and began acting while attending Kanoria College, Rajasthan University, from where she got a B.Com degree.

About the decision of acting in Hindi movies and her role in Angrezi Medium, she expressed in an interview with The Times of India, “I have always dreamt of becoming an actor. This is the reason why I joined a theatre group in Jaipur and even participated in two plays staged at Jawahar Kala Kendra and Ravindra Manch. One day, I got a call from a casting director who was looking for fresh faces for Angrezi Medium. I was handed a script and asked to mouth a few dialogues. At that point in time, I didn’t know that I was auditioning for the character of Irrfan’s wife. It was only two weeks after the audition that I got a call saying that I have been chosen for the role. I was thrilled and so was my family.”
