Biography

Philip d'Aubigny Keith-Roach, known as Phil, was the Rugby Union scrum coach to the England 2003 Rugby World Cup side. Born 11 August 1945, after secondary school, PKR spent three years at St Lukes College, now part of Exeter University. He then taught at Trinity School of John Whitgift which subsequently produced George Chuter an England hooker. He was also a teacher at Dulwich College.
Keith-Roach was a three time Cambridge Blue playing as a hooker. Subsequently he went on to become the captain of Rosslyn Park F.C. for over ten years.
After his teaching career ended he became the first full-time professional scrum coach in England firstly at Wasps, and then with England. He remained as England scrum coach after Sir Clive Woodward left the England setup but left when Andy Robinson was dismissed.
It was announced in February 2009 that he would be joining the coaching staff at Sale Sharks as forwards coach for the 2009/10 season under Jason Robinson.
In June 2011 he became involved with the Russian national side.
