Peter Falkai

Peter Gaston Falkai (born 13 November 1961; Cologne) is a German Professor of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Peter Falkai was born in Cologne, Germany in 1961. He studied medicine at the University of Düsseldorf from 1983 to 1987 and then served as an assistant and later as a resident at the same place. From 1996 to 2002 he attended University of Bonn where he was a Director and C-3 Professor in medical psychology. From 2002 to 2006 he was a Director at Saarland University and from 2006 to 2012 held the same position at the University of Göttingen. Dr. Falkai had served as President of the German Council on Biological Psychiatry as well as the German Council on Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Neuroscience.
