Biography
Pei-Jer Chen (Chinese: 陳培哲; born 1955) is a Taiwanese hepatologist.
He earned a medical degree from National Taiwan University in 1981, and completed a doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania. He returned to NTU as a postdoctoral researcher, then joined the faculty in 1987. He was elected a member of Academia Sinica in 2006, and into The World Academy of Sciences in 2011.
Chen specializes in hepatitis research. He helped treat patients during the 2003 SARS outbreak, and has attended several functions of the World Health Organization.
