Biography
Pearl Malik is a 20 years old girl pursuing a Bachelor's in Film and Television Production at The University of Southern California. Suraj is a city boy who comes back to the village to visit his best friend, Sachin. But he is faced with a problem: public defecation. As the film progresses, Suraj is not only fed up but also embarrassed by doing his "job" with the fear of being seen. He wishes to go back to the city until Sachin finds the ultimate solution to his best friend's worries and embarrassment.

Living in a city where women challenge all odds and are often faced with unfamiliar situations, I decided to reflect the emotional and mental turmoil of a young, independent woman whose car breaks down on a deserted street at an oddly hour of the night.

Through this short film, I tried to capture the daily struggles that an adolescent girl has to go through to survive.

I observed Delhi transition from day to dark in a myriad of colours and moods. Hence I was inspired to move around with my iPhone to capture the pulse of the city.

This film highlights the plight of children who live alone on the train stations, who are often forced into criminal activities or don't have a family. A documentary-style short film was used by the NGO's to spread awareness, and raise funds for their organisation.
She has interned with the India Today Group, SchoopWhoop Private Limited, Cinestaan Film Company and Leoburnett India-advertising company to gain exposure at different levels. She also worked on Habitat International Film Festival in the summer of 2017.
