Pavlo Zhebrivsky (Ukrainian: Павло Іванович Жебрівський, born 21 March 1962 in Nemyryntsi, Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukrainian SSR) is a Ukrainian politician, leader of the Ukrainian Platform "Sobor" and former member of the Ukrainian parliament, governor of Zhytomyr Oblast in 2005 and Donetsk Oblast since 2015.
Biography
Before fall of the Soviet Union for eight years (1983-1991) he worked as an investigator for Kiev city militsiya. During that time in 1989 Zhebrivsky received his jurist diploma from the Kiev University. After that he worked as a general director or president for various private companies from Kiev such as "Dzhaya", "Yan", "Farmatsiya-2000" and others.
From 2002 to 2012 Zhebrivsky was elected to parliament on three occasions as a member of the Our Ukraine–People's Self-Defense Bloc. Initially he was elected as an independent politician and then as a member of the Our Ukraine party. In 2005 Zhebrivsky served as a governor of Zhytomyr Oblast. In 2009 he created own party "Ukrainian Platform" that in 2011 was merged with Ukrainian Republican Party "Sobor" into Ukrainian Platform "Sobor" headed by Zhebrivsky.
After the War in Donbass began in August 2014 he resigned as a leader of the party and until January 2015 served as a senior sergeant (first sergeant) at frontlines of the War in Donbass. In January–June 2015 Zhebrivsky worked for the General Prosecutor of Ukraine before being appointed as a governor of Donetsk Oblast.
In April 2016 called for a "serious" war with Russia.
