Paul D'Amato (born 2 October 1949 in Worcester, Massachusetts) is an American actor known for his roles in Slap Shot (1977), The Deer Hunter (1978), Firepower(1979), and Men Under Water (1998).
He was the inspiration for British-born American superhero comics artist John Byrne's depiction of Wolverine in Uncanny X-Men—an American comic book series published by Marvel Comics since 1963 (title created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby).
