Biography
P K Chandran (Malayalam: ഡോ.പി.കെ.ചന്ദ്രന്; born 10 May 1952) is a translator and creative writer in Malayalam and Hindi .His ‘Karnan’, a translation of Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Mrityunjay, won the Sahitya Akademi Award for translation in 2001.
Early life
He was born in a family of Puthur in Calicut district in Kerala. He finished his school education in Koduvally High School. He holds a Phd in Hindi Literature on the topic "Insulted and humiliated characters in puranas and their presentation in modern poetry.
32 Years in various categories in administrative field out of which more than 15 years in supervisory posts like Section Officer,Asst.Registrar,Dy.Registrar,Joint Registrar and Finance Officer in University of Calicut. 4 years as UGC Special Officer in Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University,Trissur.
Personal life
He got married to Nirmala Pathirikkat. He has two daughters Dyumna and Dyuthi. He has settled in Feroke, Calicut
