Biography
Nilson Penha-Silva is a Brazilian biochemistry and educator.
He has a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He is currently a full professor at the Uberlândia Federal University. He teaches Biochemistry for the Undergraduate Program in Medicine and Enzymology, Biochemistry of the Erythrocyte, and Biology of Aging for the Graduate Program in Genetics and Biochemistry.
Nilson has expertise in:
- Kinetics and thermodynamics of biological processes, especially the stability of proteins, membranes, and red blood cells
- Metabolism, both in 1) health and 2) aging and chronic degenerative diseases.
