Nassif Hitti

Nassif Youssef Hitti (Arabic: ناصيف يوسف حتي‎; born 1950) is a Lebanese diplomat and politician, and the current Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants since January 2020.

Hitti has a bachelor of arts and master of arts in political sciences from the American University of Beirut and he earned a PhD in International Relations from the University of Southern California in 1980. He is the author of two books, The Theory of International Relations and The Arab World and the Five Superpowers: Futuristic Study. Hitti formerly served as an ambassador of the Arab League and represented Lebanon for the UNESCO. He was appointed by prime minister Hassan Diab as foreign minister in January 21, 2020.
