Muhammad Bayazeed Khan panni (Bengali: মোহাম্মদ বায়াজীদ খান পন্নী) (1925-2012) was a politician, doctor, writer, organizer, social reformer.
Birth and family identity
Muhammad Bayazeed Khan panni was born on 11 March 1925, in the traditional Panni family of Karatia (Tangail). His Father Mohammad Mehedi Ali Khan Panni, grandfather Mohammed Haider Ali Khan Panni. One of the founders of the Dhaka University, the jamidar of Dhanbari Syed Nawab Ali Chowdhury was his Grandfather. His ancestor Wajed Ali Khan Panni alias Chand Mia was among the most prominent among the Jamidars of Karatia. Who was imprisoned for anti-British campaign.
His uncle Nawabzada Mohammad Ali Chowdhury (Bogra) was the Prime Minister of Pakistan (1953-1955), cousin Mohammad Khurram Khan Panni (KK Panni) was a member of the Legislative Assembly, who later served as Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Philippines.
Education life
Muhammad Bayazeed Khan panni started his education in Rokayaya High Madrasah. He studied there for two years. Then He passed matriculation examination from the H. M. institute in 1942 (Now SSC). Then He was admitted in the Azizul Huq College at Bogra. After studying the first year there, he was again transferred to Islamia College (now Moulana Abul Kalam Azad College) in Kolkata, where he finished Higher Secondary.
Anti-British Movement
During his studies at Islamia College in Kolkata, he joined the anti-British Movement. That's the connection, he gains fellowship of Mahatma Gandhi, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Aurobindo Ghosh, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy and Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maududi. During this time he joined Allama Inayatullah Khan al-Mashriqi “The Khaksar Movement”. In the student position, he was nominated as East Bengal commander and 'Salar-e-Khas Hind' in this Movement.
Career
After the partition of the country, he returned to his village and started various business ventures. In the 1950s, he was attracted to Homeopathy Therapy and started treatment in his village after getting a degree from Tangail Homeo Medical College in 1957.
Political career
In 1963, he stood for Parliament bye election from Tangail-Bashail constituency vacated by his cousin Mr. Khurram Khan Panni who was appointed as ambassador of Pakistan. He got elected as an independent candidate for the East Pakistan Provincial Assembly defeating six other candidates including nominees of Awami League and Muslim League all of whom lost their security deposits for not getting required minimum votes. During his tenure, he became a member of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
Organizational activities
Once, he realized the true nature of religion in 1995, he started a Movement for calling people to the real Islam, which he named as Hezbut Tawheed (Party of Tawheed). Which contributed a significant role in social reform through religious prejudice, anti-nationalism, religion-based politics, anti-militancy, anti-terrorism and anti-communal activities.
Death
Mohammad Bayazeed Khan Panni died on January 16, 2012.
Literary works
Since his childhood, he was a victim of hunting. When he got the opportunity, he used to go to the rifle, in different forests of the country. After a terrific experience of hunting, he wrote a book called Bagh-ban-Banduk. His book Bagh-Ban-Banduk was included in the syllabus of Class XII as rapid reading by the Education Board on the recommendation of Shaheed Munir Chowdhury who was the editor of the East wing of the Pakistan Writer’s Guild. Also, He Wrote Article in different newspapers on religion, politics and medicine.
