Biography
Muhaimin Iskandar (born in Jombang, East Java, 24 September 1966) has been the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia since 22 October 2009. He also holds the position of the chairman of the National Awakening Party. He graduated from Universitas Gadjah Mada with a bachelor in politics and received a masters in communication from Universitas Indonesia.
He is married to Rustini Murtadho and has three children.
Muhaimin Iskandar has worked as a teacher at Pesantren Denanyar, Jombang; as the Head of the Division of the Institute of Public Opinion Research, Jakarta; as the Head of Research and Development of the Detik Tabloid; and as the Vice Chairman of the People's Representative Council for two periods (1999–2004 and 2004–2009).
