Biography

Morris Edwin "Morrie" Wood (9 October 1876 – 9 August 1956) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A second five-eighth, Wood represented Bush, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Canterbury, and Auckland at a provincial level. He was a member of the New Zealand national side from 1901 to 1904, appearing in 12 matches including two internationals. He also won the long jump at the New Zealand athletics championships in 1904, with a leap of 19 ft 7 1⁄2 in (5.98 m).
