Quick Facts
Biography
Mitch Mills is an American musician. He is a guitar player and songwriter. Mills has worked as a Los Angeles session guitarist and with bands such as the UK's Rumble and Mitch Mills & LA4773. Currently, he is an active member of the band Sugarwall. He lives in Los Angeles, California.
Background
Mitch Mills was born in North Carolina to a family of professional guitar players. However, he did not start playing the guitar until he was in his late teens, under the instruction of his brother and father. His guitar style and influences fall into the category of such 70's greats as Joe Perry, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and Pete Townshend. Shortly thereafter, he began playing in local cover bands. Frustrated by the restrictions of non-original material, Mills relocated to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career as a professional musician.
Mills is best known for his distinct style of playing layered guitar hooks with bluesy-rock tones. These traits have also garnered him endorsement deals with many notable musical instrument boutique companies. He is a featured endorser of the instructional DVD "I Am the Blues Lead Guitarist".
After tiring of the rigors of commercial session guitar work and playing for signed side projects, Mills decided to join Rumble, a UK based band. With Rumble, he toured extensively in Europe and the US. Upon returning to LA, he formed Mitch Mills & LA4773. The band recorded the solo album entitled Moonshine Cars, of which the song "Trouble" was featured in the HBO movie "A Better Way To Die" (which featured Lou Diamond Phillips, Joe Pantoliano and Natasha Henstridge). He is a founding member of Sugarwall, with a debut release entitled Full Circle expected to be released in May 2011.
