Biography

Miodrag Stefanović (Serbian Cyrillic: Миодраг Стефановић), also known by his nickname Mija (Serbian Cyrillic: Мија), was a Serbian basketball player and coach.

Playing career

Stefanović played for the Belgrade team Crvena zvezda in Yugoslav First League. During 1946 season with Crvena zvezda he won the Yugoslav Championships.

Yugoslavia national team

As a player for the Yugoslavia national basketball team Stefanović participated at the 1947 Eurobasket.

Coaching career

Stefanović coached Partizan during 1953 seasons in the Yugoslav First League.

Stefanović coached Yugoslavia women's national team on two European Women's Basketball Championships (1962 and 1964).

Career achievements and Awards

  • Yugoslav League champion: 1 (with Crvena zvezda: 1946).
