Mikhail Stanislavovich Kaniskin

Mikhail Kaniskin started ballet at the age of eight at Moscow State Academy of Choreography in Moscow. In 1995 he won a Prix de Lausanne scholarship and moved to Stuttgart Ballet, where he became part of the corps de ballet in 1997. He met Elisa Carillo Cabrera, whom he married in 2007. Quickly Ried Anderson nominated him to demi-soloist and in 2002 to soloist_. In 2004 he was named principal dancer.

In 2007, Vladimir Malakhov called the married couple Elisa Carillo Cabrera and Mikhail Stanislavovich Kaniskin as principal dancers to Berlin. In 2013 Kaniskin and Cabrera won Best Duet Prize at Dance Open. In 2014, Nacho Duato became general and artistic director at the Berlin State Ballet and promoted the young dance couple with guest engagements in Mariinsky Ballet, Rome State Opera Ballet, Mexico’s National Dance Company, Verona Ballet, Israel Ballet, Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, Sarajevo Opera House, Teatro Colón y Teatro de La Plata, Miami Ballet Festival, Ballet Festival Napoli, the "Stars of the 21st Century" Galas, World Ballet Gala (Sochi 2012), Hamburg’s Nijinsky Gala and Moscow’s Kremlin Gala.

In 2017 Kaniskin and Cabrera danced the second part premier of the double bill evening of Maillot | Millepied. The double bill "Maillot / Millepied" is an hors d'œuvre for the varied French ballet tradition, which has found a wonderful contemporary expression with the two choreographies "Daphnis et Chloé" and "Altro Canto". In Daphnis and Chloé Elisa Carrillo Cabrera as a light-footed-elegant nymph called "Chloé" falls in love to Mikhail Kaniskin as Daphnis. For the piece, the French artist Daniel Buren has designed a geometric color scheme that transforms the bucolic landscapes in which the ancient story about the two foundling children is originally set into a reduced but intense aesthetic.

Mikhail Stanislavovich Kaniskin is married to the Berlin State Ballet principal dancer Elisa Carillo Cabrera. Together they have one child. Due to the facts that Elisa Carillo Cabrera is one of the most famous ballerina in Mexico and Mikhail Stanislavovich Kaniskin in Russia they are travelling all over the world. Together with their foundation they support arts and children. In Berlin both of them are leading a ballett-shop, too. In 2017 Kaniskin became Co Founder and Artistic Director of Sir Anton Dolin Foundation in Berlin, Germany and Artistic Consultant Kremlin “Stars of the 21st Century” Gala

Due to the familiarity of Elisa Carillo Cabrera in Mexico, Kaniskin founded Elisa Carillo Cabrera Foundation A.C in 2011 together with Elisa Carillo Cabrera. Elisa Carilla Cabrera Foundation is member of the International Dance Council (CID) under UNESCO and supports art in Mexico and all over the world. . Kaniskin is Executive Director and organisies as Artistic Director the yearly Ininternational Ballet Star Gala“ Elisa and Friends“ in Mexico with famous dancers like Vladimir Malakhov, [Iana_Salenko Iana Salenko], Marian Walter or Dinu Tamazlacaru, Vladimir Shklarov, Semyon Chudin, EvgeniaObraszova, Joseph Gatti, Ashley Bouder, Anna Tzigonkova, He Seo, Misa Kuranaga, Kristiname Kretova
