Mikel Shane Prather

Mikel Shane Prather is an American musician and film score composer.

Prather graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas (2008–2012). He then received his master's degree in music composition from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana (2013–2015).

Prather began his professional music career making music for video games. In 2012, he, with German composer Julie Elven and Polish musician Piotr Musial, created music for NCSoft's multiplayer online role-playing game Blade & Soul. The following year, he was the music editor for Anthony C. Ferrante's TV Movie Sharknado starring Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, John Heard, Cassie Scerbo, and Jaason Simmons.

After a few more pieces of music for computer games, Prather, since 2016, concentrated on music for films and TV, mostly with David Michael Latt's production company The Asylum.

Further pieces of music for computer games followed in the next few years. Since 2016 he has mainly composed film music for films by the film studio The Asylum.
