Biography
Michaelina Wautier (1617–1689) was a painter from the Southern Netherlands.
Little is known of her life, but she was active in Brussels and sold 4 works to Archduke Leopold Wilhelm for his picture gallery that were attributed to her in the catalog of his collection drawn up in 1659.

Her self-portrait was included in the 1905 book Women Painters of the World. It was misattributed however and was included as "Portrait: (executed by herself) of Artemisia Gentileschi, who lived for a time in England and worked for Charles the First. From a photograph by Hanfstaengl after the original painting in Earl Spencer's collection".
