Biography
Michael Carter is an American technology entrepreneur best known as the co-founder of Blackstorm Labs, a company focused on building post-app store technology. Blackstorm created the game HTML5-based game EverWing, available on Facebook's Instant Games platform. Carter also sits on the Board of Directors of Rakuten Games, the Tokyo-based creator of the RGames platform.
In 2008, Carter developed the WebSocket protocol, a computer communications protocol providing full-duplex communication channels over a single TCP connection, which is currently used by more than 2 billion devices worldwide.
In 2014, Carter was a co-founder of the startup "Hello World," which emerged out of Y Combinator's YC Hacks hackathon, and was sold in less than three months for over $1 million to Life360.
