Biography

Michael "Mikey" Cahalane (born 17 June 1995) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left corner-forward for the Cork senior team.

Born in Bandon, County Cork, Cahalane first came to prominence as a hurler with Hamilton High School. Here he was a regular during the schools' 2013-14 Harty Cup campaign. At the same time Cahalane also progressed through the juvenile and underage ranks with Bandon, before eventually debuting for the club's top team. In 2016 he won a county premier intermediate championship medal.

Cahalane made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he was selected for the Cork minor team, while he also lined out with the Cork minors as a Gaelic footballer. He made his senior debut during the 2014 league, however, a heart condition ruled him out of the game for the following two seasons. Cahalane returned to the Cork senior team during the 2017 league.
