Biography
Mbaye Leye (born 1 December 1982) is a football striker from Senegal. He currently plays for Zulte Waragem in Belgium.
Career
At Zulte-Waregem, Leye was one of the most prolific players. After Zulte Waregem's partnership was formed with English team Portsmouth FC, there were rumours he could join them in 2009 once he had gained the sufficient European residence time (3 years), without requiring a work permit. He moved on 2 February 2009 to K.A.A. Gent after leaving S.V. Zulte Waregem after 18 months. In 2010, he signed a 2-year contract with Standard Liège. He returned to his former club Zulte Waregem during the 2012 January transfer window. At the start of the 2014-2015 season he joined Sporting Lokeren as a free agent. He signed a contract for 2 years with an option for an extra year. In the 2015-16 season he once again signed for S.V. Zulte Waregem, where he has gone on to score more goals than at any of his previous clubs, including his previous spells at S.V. Zulte Waregem which were also fruitful in terms of goals scored.
