Biography

Mbang Nyong Femi-Oyewo, MRF, the Former Deputy Vice–Chancellor, Olabisi Onabanjo University. was born as Mbang Nyong Ekefre some decades ago in the ancient city of Benin City, Edo State to the family of late Elder (Chief) Nyong Udo Ekefre and Elder (Mrs.) Mary Mbuk Ekefre of Henshaw Town, Calabar.

Mbang Nyong Femi-Oyewo, MRF is a Professor of Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Technology and a Consultant Pharmacist. An astute scholar, a distinguished academic, M. N. Femi-Oyewo, an alumnus of University of Ife and The Victoria University of Manchester, UK has worked in the University system, within and outside the country. Former member, OOU Governing Council. Member, Management Board of OOUTH. Director of Academic Planning (OOU) and Acting Provost, Post-Graduate School, OOU.

She started her academic career in the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1978 and appointed a Professor of Pharmacy in Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) in 1996, had worked in University of Lagos and Delta State University and currently in Olabisi Onabanjo University. She has contributed immensely to knowledge, research and development.

In Professional and Regulatory Bodies, she has served as Council Member, Chairperson, National Association of Academic Pharmacists, and Treasurer/Secretary Board of Fellows of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN); In Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN), as Council Member, Chairperson - Deans Committee, Accreditation Exercises, and also in National Universities Commission Accreditation exercises and the Institutional Accreditation. She is currently a member of both Councils of PCN and PSN and the Assistant Secretary of Nigerian Academy of Pharmacy.

For International Professional Bodies, M. N. Femi-Oyewo served as Secretary-General, West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (2003 to 2007) and currently the Chairperson Joint Faculty Board (JFB) of the College.
