Biography

Matthew Huffman (born 1970) is an American actor, screenwriter, and director.

Career

Matthew Huffman attended the New York University film school in the years 1991-1994, where he was nominated for a Student Academy Award. In the years following, he formed a creative partnership with producer and director Alan J. Pakula (of To Kill a Mockingbird fame). Later, he teamed with producer Sid Sheinberg.

In 2005, he officially formed his motion picture company named Firelight Productions.

Huffman made his acting debut in 1993 with a minor, uncredited role of a paralegal in the drama Philadelphia (starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington.) The following year, in 1994, he wrote and directed short film Secret Santa (starring David Canary and Michael Galeota.)

In 2012, he wrote, directed, and produced the comedy film Dealing, with Kurt Leitner, John Ross Bowie, and Alexandra Adi in the leading roles.

Huffman's more recent writing project was the 2013 film The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box. He wrote the screenplay alongside Christian Taylor for the film based on the novel Mariah Mundi by G. P. Taylor.
