Mark Pattison (American football)

Mark Pattison (born December 13, 1961) is a former American football wide receiver who played four seasons in the National Football League for the Los Angeles Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and New Orleans Saints. He played college football at the University of Washington and was drafted in the seventh round of the 1985 NFL Draft.

Mark attended Roosevelt High School in Seattle, WA from 1976-1980 where he became an All American as a wide receiver his junior year and All American quarterback his senior year. Both junior and senior years, he was the player of the year voted on by the Seattle Post Intelligencer newspaper. Mark was elected to the Roosevelt Hall of Fame in 2004 and is one of 5 football players inducted since 1922. After his recruitment, Mark elected to accept a full ride scholarship to the University of Washington and play under Hall of Fame coach Don James.

Mark was a 3-year letterman and played from 1980-1985 under Coach Don James, which included 2 Rose Bowls, 2 Aloha Bowls and the 1985 Orange Bowl 28-17 victory over Oklahoma, resulting in a #2 1984 final ranking in the nation.

On May 10, 2016, Mark and the rest of the 1984 Husky Football team were inducted into the Class of 2016 Husky Hall of Fame.

Following his NFL career, Pattison took up mountain climbing. In 2013, he began a goal to climb The Seven Summits on 7 continents. To date, Mark's successful ascents include Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) in 2013 (19,333'), Mount Elbrus (Russia) in 2014 (18,666'), Mount Kosciuszko (Australia) in 2015 (7,310'), and Mount Aconcagua (Argentina) in February, 2016 (23,000'). His next ascent will be Denali (U.S.) at 20,310 ft.

If he completes his goal of climbing all seven, Mark will become one of only about 350 people who have climbed the highest peaks on all seven continentsand the first NFL player to climb all Seven Summits.

Mark was the Founder/CEO of the Pattison Group a marketing and import company and then was the co-founder of Front Porch Classics, a venture backed gaming company which was sold in 1998. Front Porch won two Toy of the Year awards in 2001 and in 2002 and ended up in 700 different retail locations and in 7 countries. Mark then started Maverick Consulting Company based on the experience he had running his own companies over 20 years. In 2013, accepted a new role as SVP Biz Development NFL at Scout Media which was later sold to CBS. Today, Mark currently serves as CEO of NFL 2 Seven Summits which is an outdoor content site.
