Marina Vladimirovna Devyatova (Russian: Мари́на Влади́мировна Девя́това, born on 13 December 1983 in Moscow, Soviet Union) is a Russian singer and interpreter of Russian traditional music. She was a finalist of the third edition Narodni Artist (People's Artist), the Russian equivalent of American Idol.
Biography
Marina Devyatova was born on 13 December 1983 in Moscow in the former Soviet Union. Her father, Vladimir Devyatov, who was awarded the "People's Artist of Russia" was an artist and the first to discover the talent of his daughter. Devyatova studied at the Gnessin Academy of Music between 2003 and 2008.
She is vegetarian, and she stopped wearing fur coats and leather to avoid inflicting harm and pain upon animals.
Career
In 2006, Marina Devyatova participated at the third edition of the program Narodni Artist/Народный Артист (People's Artist), where she reached the final. This event made her gradually known and allowed her to start an international tour tours in many countries: Germany, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, USA, South Korea, China, Laos, Vietnam and even Mongolia. She performed songs in the United Kingdom, where she sang for Queen Elizabeth II and her family.
In 2007, Devyatova was part of the Russian delegation and was in Guatemala at the ceremony of choosing the capital of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
In 2016, Devyatova performed in Russian city Obninsk.
In 2018 Devyatova performed at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus.
