Mariano Lazcano (c.1770-1840s) was an notary and accountant of the Court of Auditors of Buenos Aires during the Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata.
Biography
Mariano Lazcano was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, member of the Uruguayan patrician family dedicated to trade and government. He began his studies in Buenos Aires and was a graduate of notary and accountant in the University of Saint Francis Xavier. In 1805, Lazcano was appointed official 1' in the administration of Aduana by Justo Pastor Lynch, Contador Mayor of Buenos Aires Customs.
During the British invasions of the River Plate occurred in 1806 and 1807, Lazcano participated in the defense and reconquest of Buenos Aires.
Mariano Lazcano married on September 14, 1796 with María Dominga Canaveris, sister of the Third Order of Saint Dominic, daughter of Juan de Canaveris and Bernarda Catalina de Esparza.
