Biography

Marcus Aemilius Lepidus was a name used by several ancient Roman men of the gens Aemilia. In the mid-3rd century BC, the Aemilii Lepidi split into two branches: the ancestors of the triumvir usually named the eldest son Marcus, and the younger Lucius or Quintus, while the other Lepidi more often preferred the praenomen Manius.
