Biography
Marc Antoine Alexis Giraud, né le à Saint-Jean-de-Liversay et mort le à Paris, est un magistrat et homme politique français.
Biographie
Juge de paix à La Rochelle, il est député de la Charente-Inférieure (couleur girondine et centre gauche) à La Convention, vote la détention de Louis XVI et fut rapporteur de la loi du maximum. Il passe au Conseil des Cinq-Cents le 21 vendémiaire an IV et en sort en 1796, pour partir en mission à Saint-Domingue. Rappelé en 1799, sur des accusations de dilapidation, il est mis hors de cause.
C’est le grand-père de l’ophtalmologue Félix Giraud-Teulon et l’arrière-grand-père de l’historien Alexis Giraud-Teulon.
