Malcolm Dakin is a renowned English visual artist.
Early life and education
Dakin was born in 1943 in Derbyshire County in England.
He attended Derby College of Art from 1958 to 1963. Then from 1964 to 1967, he studied painting at the Royal College of Art, London.
Career
After teaching at an evening institute in Derbyshire in 1963 he worked as a bleacher + dyer in a Derbyshire factory and in 1964 as a night orderly at Derby Royal Infirmary after which he travelled to Dublin, France, Spain and North Africa.
In 1966, Dakin worked as a part time assistant to Harold Cohen.
Dakin's work has featured in various high profile exhibitions, such as the Royal Society of British Artists Galleries, London, and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. He has also collaborated with Arnolfini Centre for Contemporary Arts in Bristol.
In 1967 he worked for the film 'No. 4' by Yoko Ono. In 1968, he was a background for the animated feature film "Yellow Submarine," based on the music of The Beatles.
He now lives in London where he teaches part time.
